About the Company:
We’re working with a company building a large, proprietary hedge fund where technology is the core advantage. The team combines systematic trading, cutting-edge AI, and proprietary infrastructure to create a research environment where ideas can move rapidly from concept to live deployment. Working closely with an internal AI Research Lab, the team owns the entire lifecycle of quantitative research - from hypothesis generation and experimentation to production trading systems.
About the Role:
The team is looking for an AI Researcher to help transform the way trading research is conducted. You'll contribute to building intelligent research systems capable of generating, evaluating, and refining trading ideas at scale. You will operate at the intersection of market microstructure, modeling, and system design, transforming research into a continuously learning pipeline.
What You'll Do:
- Structure and formalize the trading research workflow, including idea generation, validation frameworks, and performance evaluation
- Develop agent-based systems that can autonomously discover, test, and iterate on trading strategies
- Convert market insights and microstructure knowledge into machine-readable signals, features, and decision-making rules
- Build and improve backtesting, simulation, and experimentation environments that support large-scale research under realistic market conditions
- Increase research productivity by designing systems that efficiently explore large hypothesis spaces while maintaining statistical rigor
- Partner with engineers and researchers to integrate autonomous research capabilities into live trading infrastructure You’ll work at the frontier of real-world ML, with freedom to define problems, test ideas, and push them into live trading systems.
You might thrive in this role if you have:
- Hands-on experience researching, developing, or deploying systematic trading strategies
- Deep understanding of market microstructure, execution mechanics, and trading system constraints
- Solid foundation in statistics, probability, and optimization, with the ability to apply these concepts in noisy and non-stationary environments
- Profound Python programming skills and experience working with modern machine learning tools and frameworks
- Ability to break down complex research problems into structured and repeatable processes
- Interest in automating research workflows and building systems that can scale beyond traditional manual research approaches
- Ability to communicate in English at a B2+ level
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to reinforcement learning in trading or financial markets

- Work in Amsterdam, Dubai, Montreal - or remotely from Europe
