About the Company:

This is an AI-native fintech startup building an EMI (Electronic Money Institution) and payment infrastructure for European merchants from scratch.

  • Direct participant in international payment systems
  • Licensed in Cyprus (CBC) and the UK (FCA)
  • Currently in pre-launch stage (planned launch - Summer 2026)

Why This Role Matters?

You won’t just be writing code - you will be building the core of the product:

  • Financial backend (ledger, settlement, processing)
  • Merchant portal and operations panel
  • System architecture and key technical decisions

No legacy. No bureaucracy. No “this is how it’s always been done”.
You will have real impact on how the product is built.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Strong Senior Full Stack Engineer
  • Backend-oriented (≈50/50 or backend-heavy)
  • High level of ownership and autonomy
  • Experience building production-ready products (not internal tools)
  • Ability to make decisions without detailed specifications
  • Experience in fintech or willingness to quickly ramp up
  • Product mindset: focus on quality and user experience
  • Understanding of: reliable systems / SLA / fault tolerance / metrics, monitoring, and tracing

Technical Requirements:

Backend
  • Kotlin (preferred) / Java
  • Spring Boot
  • REST APIs, webhook processing
  • PostgreSQL
  • Event-driven architecture
Frontend
  • Any modern framework (React / Vue / Angular — not critical)
  • Important: production experience, not a specific stack
Infrastructure
  • Docker, Kubernetes (understanding is sufficient, not necessarily DevOps-level)
  • CI/CD, Git
Nice to Have
  • BPMS (Camunda / BPMN)
  • OAuth / Okta
  • Experience working with APIs and integrations

AI-First Approach:

  • Mandatory use of AI tools in development
  • Working with agents is the expected default
  • Important: ability to understand generated output, explain decisions, and use AI to improve speed and quality
