Head of AI Engineering (AI-native Neobank / EMI, EU)
Most “AI-first fintech” projects break on one simple reality: A real bank is not a chatbot. It’s transactions, accounting, compliance, audit, and regulation - where every action must be explainable and reproducible.
That’s exactly the challenge here: To build AI engineering on top of a strict banking framework, where AI accelerates processes but remains fully controlled and compliant.
The Role
Head of AI Engineering - a key engineering position in the project. You will build the architectural foundation of an AI-native bank.
You will work directly with the Founder and CPTO, with high autonomy in choosing the tech stack and making architectural decisions that will shape the operational model.
This is a hands-on role:
First phase: rapid prototyping and architectural validation
Next phase: building a small engineering team and scaling the function
Initial Responsibilities:
Define architecture and select the tech stack aligned with product goals and regulatory requirements
Rapid prototyping → transition to stable production systems
Integrations: payment processing / transactions, KYC/KYB, AML
Assess future needs and hire the engineering team
Who We’re Looking For:
7+ years in roles such as Tech Lead / Head of Engineering / Architect (tech stack is flexible)
Experience in fintech as a co-founder / founding engineer / early-stage hire — building systems from scratch
Strong background in high-load systems, reliability, and security
Active hands-on use of AI-driven / agentic approaches, with the ability to implement them in production
Fluent Russian
Conditions:
Base salary guideline: $10K–$15K gross (flexible depending on seniority)
Employment format: official employment in Cyprus or B2B contract
